This 2 night and 3 day photo safari includes all lodging at the Little Snake River cabins. A minimum of 5 people total is required for each of these 3 day sessions. All meals, snacks, and nonalcoholic beverages are included.

This western adventure will take you to the foothills and the mountains of Colorado. The colorful and magnificent backdrop of the 7 Mile Ridge and all creative sessions are to stimulate the imagination and expand your creativity in a very relaxed and very controlled setting.

You will be in a perfect position to photograph, paint or draw (all levels, all media and techniques) horses and cattle as they thunder over a ridge, all the while kicking up a cloud of dust or snow as they run in front or along side of you. We will also be creating images for you of horses, mules, and cattle running through a shallow but wide Little Snake River. Splashing up water as they run past your stand. Using the sagebrush and the majestic rugged 7 Mile Ridge in the background. Imagine holding your classes or workshops at River Overlook Ranch. We will also have the horses, cattle and pack string silhouetted against a high mountain ridge for a very colorful sunrise, sunset of landscapes as well as many other great opportunities throughout our creative image sessions.

Each day you will be working with 2-3 model released, highly skilled cowboys (maybe even a cowgirl) that will provide plenty of hard-charging action as they drive the horses, mules and cattle by you. Or just drive them from point A to point B.

We will also create images of a complete pack string of horses, mules, wranglers and guides crossing the Little Snake RIver or just silhouetted on the trail going to and from a fully functioning outfitter's camp that will be setup authentic in every way except there will be NO HUNTING, NO REAL HUNTERS, or DEAD ANIMALS in this camp.

You may paint, draw, or photograph the cowboys (or cowgirls) and their horses silhouetted against a very colorful sunrise or sunset. The cowboys can also chase cattle or horses, pose with or without their horses for some very interesting portraits around the round pen. We will have plenty of tack, saddles, packing gear and all kinds of props hanging on the hitching rails or saddle racks. A canvas covered chuck wagon, a large canvas covered freight wagon. Mules in harness, a tipi with a mountain man in his buckskins wandering around with his muzzleloaders, tomahawks, and knives for the middle of the day session. Depending on the weather, the sessions will usually include three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening each day for a maximum time in the field and all of the best available natural lighting.

If there are no fire restrictions, we will also photograph, paint and draw the cowboys, cowgirls, or mountain men standing or crouching around a blazing campfire, lying back on their saddles or bed rolls with their horses and the chuck wagon and freight wagon in the background, or any other western images we can come up with.

These professional artists and photographer workshops and classes with your students, participants or client's trip will be loaded with a wagon load of subject matter, landscapes, colors, and unbelievable opportunities that are exclusive to only this Colorado ranch adventure and is a must-do trip for any artist or photographer interested in capturing the icons from the real wild west of Colorado.

Remember - we also provide fully guided 4x4 wild horse tours!

We hope you'll come for a visit.
